On February 11, 2024, to celebrate Alex Sims - who has a rare and aggressive autoimmune disease called IPEX - finding a bone-marrow donor, we had lunch at Lazy Dog and went to Apple Park with him and his family.

After the JiaEn Home visit, we have kept in touch with the children there and regularly exchange videos talking about daily life and American and Taiwanese culture. This video was filmed by Ariel Chien, our social media manager, who describes our Apple Park visit.
JiaEn Home Visit
On January 5th, 2024, we planned a fun afternoon for the kids at JiaEn Home in Tainan, Taiwan, sharing about different topics such as classical music and American culture. The activities were led by Ariel Chien, our social media manager and project leader, and Teacher Susie, founder of JiaEn Home.
JiaEn Home (加恩屋) is a place that provides afterschool care to children, grades 1-6, of families that cannot afford regular afterschool education programs in the countryside of Tainan (South Taiwan). Without JiaEn Home’s support, these children have limited resources to support their academic development or cultural education. It is hosted by a group of volunteers, including teachers and parents, who devote their time and money to sustain the program.
